Foreign Currency Account

A current account denominated in foreign currencies, i.e. US Dollars, British Pounds and Euros. It can be opened by individuals as a Personal FCY Account or by companies as a Corporate FCY Account.

Basic requirements

    Personal

    • 2 passport sized photographs
    • Valid identification, e.g. Driving Permit, Passport, NSSF Card, Voter’s Card, Financial Card (CRB)
    • Reference from a known bank customer

    Company

    • 2 passport sized photographs
    • Valid identification, e.g. Driving Permit, Passport, NSSF Card, Voter’s Card, Financial Card (CRB)
    • Reference from a known bank customer
    • Initial deposit of USD 500 or its equivalent
    • Local currency account and recommendation from the branch manager
    • All other requirements of the UGX Current Account
