Types of loans

  • Working capital loans. Maturity or tenor of one year, e.g. overdrafts and short-term loans
  • Development loans. Both short and medium term, with a maturity period of up to 3 years, e.g. for real estate dealers, industrialists and school construction
  • Trade finance loans for handling payments in trade: bid bonds, guarantees for advance payment, import loans
  • Agricultural loans for financing agricultural business activities in production and processing
  • Letters of credit to finance import trade

Basic requirements

  • An operational current account with the bank for 6 months
  • The applicant must be resident within the branch’s designated area of operation
  • Securities include registered mortgages on immovable property and guarantees
  • Application fee of UGX 100,000 for individuals and UGX 200,000 for corporates
  • Arrangement fee of 2%
  • Completed loan application form
  • Security (either land title or business stock)
  • Insurance, registration and valuation of the security are borne by the borrower
  • Stamp duty fee of UGX 5,000 per document
  • Application letter
