Orient Bank has today rewarded five entrepreneurs with Ugx. 60 million to help them grow their businesses. The winners have been part of the Orient Business Academy season three. The event was presided over by Orient Bank’s MD Kumaran Pather, the Principal, Makerere University Business School, Prof. Waswa Balunywa and Dr. Diana Ntamu, the Director, MUBS Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Incubation Centre.
The winners include One Lamp Uganda Limited, Label It Enterprises, Blue Atlantiva, Precision Africa and Zabuys.com.
The Orient Business Academy is a Corporate Social Responsibility program that is aimed at facilitating small business owners with financial literacy and business management skills to enable their businesses thrive in the competitive business environment. The program is Orient Bank’s flagship social investment and is run in partnership with Makerere Business School – Entrepreneurship Centre (MUBS-EC). It involves five phases i.e. launch/call for entries, admission, trainings, business growth plans competition and awarding of winners.
