GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS GOVERNING BANKING WITH ORIENT BANK

The relationship between the bank and the customer is that of a debtor and a creditor, the respective position being decided upon by the position of the customer’s account with the bank. The position is governed by the law of Uganda except where the following terms and conditions apply and subject to any further agreement in writing.

OPERATION OF ACCOUNTS

Current Accounts: The minimum credit balance to be maintained in the current accounts with the Bank will be Ushs 200,000 (Kampala branches) 100,000 (upcountry) for individual, Sole proprietorship, Partnership accounts and Ushs 500,000 (Kampala branches) Ushs. 200,000 (upcountry branches) for Corporate accounts

Foreign Currency Current Accounts:  The minimum credit balance to be maintained in the individual account will be US$ 1000, while for Corporate accounts  it shall be US$ 3000.

Saving Accounts: The Minimum credit balance required for this account is Ushs 25,000.

I/We also permit you to disclose information related to this account to the Credit Reference Bureau for circulation to credit grantors.
